My father took his life in 1983 when I was 10 years old.
I’ve never truly been open about it. Bound by the privacy of our family life and the secrecy of suicide, our family has had more tribulations than I can count. It’s time to start talking about it.
This project has inspired me to begin conversations with both my mother and my brother. It’s an opportunity for me to become open in all facets of my life.

The courage of Scott Chisholm has allowed people like Jen and myself to share one of the most pivotal and damaging moments in our families lives. My husbands suicide has left a wake of unanswered questions and self blame which has led my children and myself to self destructive behavior. It’s like he left us with a disease. Talking does help… a lot.
